Some careers follow a traditional path. Jack Frimston's has been anything but.

Before co-founding We Have A Meeting, Jack's career took him from musical theatre and boy bands to cruise ships and speed-dating events. It is hardly the route most people would associate with building one of the UK's fastest-growing sales training businesses, yet every chapter taught lessons that continue to shape the way he leads today.

Alongside business partner Zac Thompson, Jack has helped grow We Have A Meeting into a recognised name within the sales industry, working with ambitious businesses across the UK whilst building a personal brand that has attracted more than 45,000 followers on LinkedIn.

In this edition of LEVELATIONS, Jack reflects on the unconventional journey that led him into entrepreneurship, the mindset that transformed his outlook on life, and the lessons learned from building a business in a highly competitive market.

An Unconventional Beginning

Jack's journey started in the world of performance.

After studying musical theatre at university, he moved to London and spent six years performing in a boy band, touring alongside artists including Tom Jones and Madness. It was a period that taught him confidence, resilience and how to connect with an audience, skills that would later become invaluable in business.

When that chapter came to an end, a new opportunity emerged in the cruise industry, taking him across the world performing out of Australia and Miami. Whilst the setting changed, the fundamentals remained the same. Every day was about understanding people, building relationships and creating memorable experiences.

Then came Covid.

Like thousands working in entertainment, Jack suddenly found himself reassessing what came next. After relocating to Manchester, he took on a role as a speed-dating host, another unexpected stop on a career path that was already anything but conventional.

Looking back, however, the connection feels obvious. Whether performing on stage, hosting events or working in sales, success often comes down to communication, confidence and understanding people.

Those experiences would later become the foundations of We Have A Meeting.

A Different Perspective

Whilst Jack's career journey had already taken several twists and turns, 2021 proved to be a defining year.

After spending time in a Buddhist temple, completing a three-day phone detox and immersing himself in Stoic philosophy, he experienced a shift in perspective that continues to influence both his personal and professional life today.

"It comes from a mix of Stoicism and a proper wake-up moment I had in 2021. I spent time in a Buddhist temple, did a three-day phone detox and read a lot about death. It sounds heavy, but it did the opposite. It opened my mind up. It made me realise we've got one life, and the whole point is to actually use it."

The experience reinforced something many entrepreneurs understand but often forget.

There is rarely a perfect time to start.

Whether launching a business, creating content or pursuing a new opportunity, waiting for certainty can become an excuse for standing still. For Jack, the real breakthrough came from embracing action over perfection and focusing on making the most of the opportunities in front of him.

Building Through Consistency

Today, Jack is recognised as one of LinkedIn's most influential sales creators, with an audience of more than 45,000 followers.

Whilst many people search for shortcuts when it comes to personal branding, Jack's view is refreshingly straightforward.

"The biggest moment wasn't a hack. It was consistency. Posting loads. Trying things. Not being scared to throw stuff at the wall. I was doing multiple posts a day at points, just to find my voice, my tone and what actually landed."

The growth didn't come from a single viral post or a carefully engineered strategy. It came from showing up consistently, experimenting, learning and improving over time.

That philosophy mirrors the approach he has taken in business.

"Everyone wants shortcuts, but honestly the best advice is: take action, keep shipping and let the reps shape your style."

For Jack, progress has always come from momentum rather than perfection. Whether building a brand, growing a business or developing a career, success is often found on the other side of consistent effort.

Learning Through Adversity

Like every founder, Jack's journey has included moments that tested both his confidence and resilience.

One of the most significant came when We Have A Meeting lost a client that represented around 80 per cent of the company's revenue almost overnight.

For a young business, the impact was substantial.

The experience forced difficult conversations, difficult decisions and a complete reassessment of the company's direction. At the time, Jack admits he lacked the experience and confidence that comes with navigating major challenges.

Looking back, however, the setback became one of the most valuable lessons in the company's growth.

The loss forced the team to diversify, strengthen the business and build a more sustainable model for the future. What initially felt like a major obstacle ultimately became a turning point.

It also reinforced a lesson that continues to shape Jack's outlook today: growth rarely comes without discomfort.

What's Next?

Four years on from launching We Have A Meeting, the business continues to go from strength to strength.

With two offices, a growing team and an expanding client base, the focus is now on building on the foundations that have already been established and continuing to strengthen the brand's position within the market.

Personally, Jack's ambitions remain equally clear.

"For WHAM, it's doubling down. Working with brilliant clients, doing great work and properly scaling what we've built. We've got two offices, and we've done really well to get where we are in four years. Now it's about taking it to the next level and growing the brand in a bigger way."

The same philosophy applies on a personal level.

"Keep building, keep pushing and make sure I'm living properly while I do it, not just chasing the next target on autopilot."

It's an outlook that perfectly captures Jack's journey so far. Ambitious, driven and focused on growth, but always grounded by the belief that success means little if you forget to enjoy the process.

Big Ideas. Bold Leaders.

Jack story is proof that there is no single route into entrepreneurship. From boy bands and cruise ships to sales training and personal branding, every chapter has played a role in shaping the leader he is today.

At the heart of it all is a simple idea: take action, embrace opportunity and make the most of the time you've got.

At LEVEL, we believe those are the stories worth sharing.

LEVELATIONS is our ongoing series spotlighting business leaders shaping what's next, one conversation at a time.
